Constantia Home Care have live-in care assistants who come to us from all over the world, predominately from Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. All care assistants are personally interviewed for suitability.

Each live-in care assistant is vetted with DBS checks and two references obtained, they then go through our rigorous training induction. Only once the agency is satisfied with their suitability are any care assistants placed with our clients.

A live-in carer is there to enable the client to live the way they choose as well as give the family and next of kin the peace of mind that their loved one is being assisted in the comfort of their own home.

A live-in carer will assist in the smooth running of the home, light housekeeping, laundry, cooking, driving and shopping duties. If requested carers may act as companions, assist in letter writing, watering plants, keeping pets and other daily activities such as accompanying clients to hairdressers or hospital appointments and playing host to friends and family.

A live-in carer can provide varying levels of personal care as required and discussed at the assessment stage.

Carers are able to undertake tasks such as:

• Washing/showering/bathing
• Continence care
• Rehabilitation
• Transferring from bed/chair
• Emotional support
• Help and assistance at night
• Supervision of medication
